Privacy policy
What this site collects and what it does not. It is short, because the site does very little.
This policy describes what Spf & Shore actually does with data. It is deliberately short, because the site does very little. Last updated September 2026.
What this site does not do
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no login anywhere on this site.
- No newsletter. We do not collect email addresses for marketing.
- No advertising network. There are no ad slots, no retargeting pixels and no ad-tech vendors.
- No selling of data. We do not sell, rent or trade any information about you.
- No payment processing. Nothing is sold here — purchases happen at the retailer.
What is collected
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and which links they click. It records things like page URL, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, referring site, and events such as clicking an outbound product link or submitting the contact form. It uses cookies to do so.
We use this in aggregate to decide what to write next. We do not attempt to identify individual readers, and we have no way to do so. Google's own privacy practices for Analytics are documented at policies.google.com/privacy.
Affiliate links
When you click a product link, you pass through a redirect on this domain and arrive at the retailer with our affiliate tag attached. The retailer — currently Amazon — may set a cookie so that a subsequent purchase is credited to us.
That cookie is set by the retailer under their privacy policy, not by us, and we never see who you are or what you bought. We see only the aggregate commission report. Affiliate disclosure.
The contact form
If you use the contact form, the name, email address, optional subject and message you type are emailed to janet.hoyo@yahoo.com. They are not stored in a database, added to a mailing list, or used for anything other than replying to you.
The form uses three anti-spam measures that involve no third party: a hidden field bots fill in and humans do not, a timestamp recording when the page loaded, and a short-lived in-memory count of submissions per IP address. None of that is retained.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard request logs — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent — as part of operating the service. These are retained by the host under their own policy and are not used by us for profiling.

This site sets no cookies of its own for personalization, and there is nothing to log into.
Children
This site is written for adults buying sun care, much of it for their children. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Your choices
- Block cookies in your browser. The site works normally without them; only the analytics measurement stops.
- Use tracking protection or an ad blocker. Nothing here depends on analytics loading.
- Ask us to delete your message. If you have emailed us or used the form and want that correspondence deleted, say so and we will delete it.
- Ask what we hold. Email janet.hoyo@yahoo.com. In practice the answer is: any emails you have sent us, and nothing else.
External links
We link to retailers, regulators and research organizations. Once you leave this site you are covered by their privacy policies rather than ours, and we have no control over what they collect.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than made silently.
