Spf & Shore earns commission from qualifying purchases made through links on this site, at no extra cost to you. That is how the site is funded, and this page explains exactly how it works and what it does and does not influence.
The Amazon Associates statement
Spf & Shore participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
How the links work
- Product links on this site pass through a redirect on our own domain before going to the retailer. That redirect adds our affiliate tag and sends you on.
- If you buy something within the retailer's cookie window, we receive a small percentage of the sale.
- You pay exactly the same price. The commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not out of your pocket.
- Every earning link is marked #ad and carries the sponsored and nofollow link attributes, which is what Google's link-spam policy requires.
- The redirect is excluded from search engines and from our sitemap.
What commission does not influence
Which products we recommend, and in what order. Every product link on this site goes to the same retailer, so there is no product that pays us meaningfully more than another. The incentive to steer you toward a higher-commission item does not exist here — and where it might in future, this page will say so before it does.
No brand pays for placement, position, wording or inclusion. We do not accept sponsored posts, paid reviews or free product in exchange for coverage. Our editorial policy sets that out in full.
Why there are no prices on this site
We have no live price feed. Rather than publish numbers that would be wrong within days, every price area on this site reads "Check price on Amazon" and sends you to the retailer to see the current price yourself.
A stale price is worse than no price: it creates a false expectation and it is the single most common way affiliate sites mislead readers without intending to. We would rather send you to look.
Where disclosure appears
- On this page, in full.
- Above the fold on every page carrying product links, in short form.
- Under every buy link, marked #ad with a link back here.
- In the footer of every page, with the Amazon Associates statement.
- On the homepage, in a funding-transparency panel.
That is more disclosure than the FTC requires, and it is deliberate. A reader who is surprised to learn a site earns commission has been badly served by that site.
Products we do not link
Some products worth mentioning are not sold through any program we participate in. Where that happens we either mention them with no link at all, or recommend an equivalent that is available. We never build an untagged or fabricated link to fill a gap, and we do not omit a genuinely better product because we cannot earn from it.
